Welaptega CMS is a custom-designed technology for measuring damage, wear, corrosion and pitting mooring chains on floating production and drilling platforms.
CMS is an optical caliper imaging technology deployed in water by ROV and positioned on a chain link to capture video data. This data is processed to produce measurements of link intergrip and length.
The CMS can be deployed in-air by hand or underwater by Work Class ROV.
Deliverables include:
• Link length for every chain link measured
• Bar stock diameter x2 for every link measured
• Details of anomalies noted during data collection
• Engineer’s report detailing the data set, and comparison
to rejection criteria established by API and Class Societies
