2015 Welaptega Bluenose Squash Classic

The 2015 Welaptega Bluenose Squash Classic was held from October 20th- October 25th at the Homburg Centre located on Saint Mary’s University Campus, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The highly competitive racquet event has been held in Halifax for 10 years and, even though Welaptega has always supported the event, we are very proud and excited to have had the opportunity to be the title sponsor for this year.

This year’s tournament featured a $35,000 prize fund and brought in squash players from all around the world. In the end it came down to Australia’s Ryan Cuskelly, who proved his power and skills by defeating Egypt’s Karim Abdel Gawad. Gawad held the number one seat coming into the tournament but was dominated by Cuskelly in a 3-0 sweep in the championship set. The final 3 scores of the set went 16-14, 11-9 and 11-6 for Cuskelly. Cuskelly entered the tournament in the number four seat and reached the finals by remaining undefeated throughout the entire tournament en route to capturing his biggest ever PSA World Title.
