The RMS provides high quality outside inspection but many wire ropes are sheathed in plastic or suffer hidden internal degradation mechanisms. To provide internal inspection, we are developing a magnetic NDT-based ROV-deployed inspection system.

Welpatega attended the 4th Annual Global FPSO forum in Galveston Texas. It was a great event filled with interesting people hailing from all arenas of industry: FPSO providers, designer engineers, operators, specialists & experts, regulators, and 3rd party contractors. With in depth sessions focusing on everything from mooring integrity and monitoring, to the industry at large, to new developments, to risks, it promised to be an event where ideas could be discussed and debated at length to illuminate some of the growing concerns for all involved in the FPSO and broader floating market.

Busy autumn at Welaptega Marine

Operations across the globe continue for Welaptega Marine as 2 new offshore campaigns have kicked off in recent days. Richard and Derek have headed to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates to deploy a selection of Welaptega subsea tools to complete an in service mooring fitness for purpose assessment, while Jordan and Dave are in the North Sea concluding Chain Measurement System (CMS) work on an FPSO mooring system.

The timing could not have been better as all members of the Welaptega crew, both onshore and offshore were in Canada, and the weather cooperated giving us sunshine and clear skies. ECO provided us with 3 awesome tour guides to accompany us on a two hour paddle around Back Bay and put up with our passion for “friendly competition”.
